Earl Grey - 50 Tea Bags

The story goes that Earl Grey, the Georgian prime minister, was given cases of this tea by a Chinese Mandarin. He liked it so much he brought it home and asked Twinings to recreate it for him.

Light, fragrant and with a distinctive bergamot and lemon flavour, our Earl Grey still has all the taste of the original, and we like to think it's still the best.

"our Earl Grey still has all the taste of the original"

We believe that how you make your tea is equally as important as the tea you use, so here are our tips:

- Use freshly drawn cold water
- Use water at a “rolling boil” (100?C)
- Use 1 teabag per cup or 1 teabag per person in a teapot
- Steep for 3 to 5 minutes (or to your taste)
- This light, delicately citrus tea is best drunk without milk (a slice of lemon is great) or with just a touch of milk
… and for freshness every time, keep your tea somewhere cool, dark, dry and airtight!

Customer Comments

salina

Tea refined and full of character, very pleasant evolution of the dated Classics Earl Grey, only superficiality and laziness can not grasp the change in tradition, Twinings has managed to improve on what has traditionally been excellent.

I bought it from supermarket without looking at the details, thinking that it was still the taste I was used to (the yellow pack). However, the first time I brew it I was surprised by its strong smell---may be too much bergamon and lemon I'm afraid... This is still good but I'm more into the previous blend, sorry :)
